This year, on the 11th of March, Cambridge sees the return of running to its historic streets after an absence of 17 years, with the launch of the Saucony Cambridge Half Marathon.
As the nation looks forward to the 2012 Olympics, up to 3,000 runners are expected to pound the city’s streets and green spaces on the 13.1-mile route. The start line will be situated on Victoria Avenue and the course takes in some of Cambridge’s beautiful landmarks, including the River Cam and Kings College before crossing over the finish line onto Midsummer Common.
